Beautiful Green Lake Encircled by Green Lush Limestones

So recently, my girl pal joined me for my bi-weekly hometown trip to Ipoh.

It was pretty fun when you have your friends to visit your hometown as you would be the ambassador to promote your birthplace.

It was a tiring trip indeed since I had to rush back to Ipoh after work on Friday and geez, we hang out until wee hours as if we were not sleepy at all.

It was a very unwelcoming when the alarm bell rung the next morning to catch up with my mom to have breakfast. Since my mom loves dim sum and God knows Foo San is forever packed, so she brought us to this restaurant called Qi Yuan in Greentown Business Centre (No.71, Persiaran Greentown 1 – few shops next to CIMB). The food is simply finest in its class with the rather more composed ambience – unlike those earsplitting dim sum outlets cluster in downtown.

Siew Mai
The oozy Xiao Loong Pau
Wanted to order its glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf but since my digestion system is not very that good all the time, so I opted something light and cliché instead – har kao and siew mai. I even ordered the xiao looong pau. Please keep your handphone or key aside when you are about to have the first bite because it is really filled with black vinegar that oozes out profusely. You can try its duck egg yolk lava buns too! Considered reasonable to dine as five of us only cost close to RM 100 only.

Hot and wobbly tau fu fah

Given that it was cold rainy Saturday, we went to Jalan Ali Pitchay off Jalan Yang Kalsom for hot and wobbly tau fu fah (soya bean curd). Much apology coz I forgot the name of the shop, i think it's called Woong Kee. However, I like this concept of this half-corner-shop as you can sit on the high stools overlooking the street below.

We proceeded to Gunung Lang Recreational Park thereafter, which located less than 1km from my house. To be precise, it is located off Jalan Kuala Kangsar and easily access via North South Highway PLUS when you take Ipoh exit.

Covering an area of 30 hectares out of 14 hectares is covered with  breathtaking manmade lake and surrounded by lush green limestones. You can even ride a boat to cross the other side of the lake which just cost RM3 for return trip.

To be honest, the park is kinda dilapateted and it doesn’t augur well with the Visit Perak Year 2012. You see, the two towers for aerial view are closed, I couldn’t find any toilet when I was the other side of the lake, the grasses are left untrimmed.

To add a little mystery on your visit to this lake, I was told by the operator there that there is a cave in Gunung Lang that used to be inhabited by a cavemen-family. Japanese and Communist also used Gunung Lang as their hideouts. So I won’t be surprised the place is haunted. Okay, don’t discuss further because I live nearby there.

Anyway, the next day we had our lunch at Pak Kong Hainanese Chicken Rice Shop (Click here for more info).

In order to satisfy our sweet tooth, we headed to Lok Wee Kui at Jalan Raja Muda Aziz (opposite Kamdar) for some light dessert. When Ipoh folks mention about this rather perculiar name, the first few signature dishes will definitely come across their minds : Sar Hor Fun (Chicken and Noodle in Prawn Broth), Ngap Tui Min (duck drumstick noodle) in herbal soup, Horr Hee (noodle soup with fishballs)  and rojak. Since we were so full, we just opted the caramelized egg custard. Talk about smoothness, I guess this shop defines it all.

The best thing to do when your stomach is fully-filled is go to sleep. Lol, this will make you a fat ass. To save ourselves from being a fat ass, we just strolled on the beautiful DR Park. Dr Park has a soft place in everyone’s heart who grows up in Ipoh. This is the park where most of the family will bring their children to stroll, to play at playground, to cycle at the mocked traffic roads and to spend quality time together to say the least.

I still can recall, when I was really small, my grandpa would take me to this park to ride the carousel. Though the city council has dismantled the carousel long ago but the beautiful and happy childhood still remain vividly in my mind.

Blow it like it's hot

I promised myself not to be too judgemental or bitchy on people's persona.

I guess i have to break the promise now because someone just piqued my bitchy nerves. After you reading this entry, i bet that you would share the same sentiment with me.

So i was browsing my Jack D, and suddenly pop up this diabolical and disgusting picture. (i have censored his picture for the sake of the minors who are reading this entry). Ladies and gentlemen, brace yourself!

Trust me, his face is terrible. Coupled with the hairdryer blowing his sweaty flabby body and wearing nothing but Private Structure underwear - it simply constitutes the true meaning of disgusting. Beyond words, really. I never knew gay folks could be so desperate until have post this kind of picture. Call me Blowing Queen. Yew!! Heinous!!Dude, hair dryer is meant for the hair not the body.

Feeling nausea? Wait until his description below:

"No drama queens". Geez, look's who talking. Blowing your flabby body with hair dryer is not drama queen. I'm dying to know what constitute drama queens in his perception. "Warning, there are too many bigots who acts macho here. Please stay away from me." I guess all the machos men are warned when they look at his pictures.Definately, they will stay away from you lol..

I guess i should stop being Joane River here. Adios!

Edison and Josh Say "I Do"

Finally, they have tied the knot. They are the sweetest and cutest gay couple i've ever seen in my life. Congratulations and wish nothing but the best for you both. Their wedding and marriage is a clear manifestation  that true love prevails in gay relationship admist all those biased and orthodox anti-gay sentiments. Seriously, if God hate gay, then why both of them are so cute?

Splendour thing or just sick cycle?

Sometimes I ask myself do I fully of letting him go?

I really don’t know. I do miss him somehow. I’m not sure I miss the moments I spent with him or the longing to be with him.

But it doesn’t matter now. He doesn’t even bother me anymore. Perhaps, it’s a good thing to force myself to move on.

Strange right? We were once so close together like two birds of a feather would be. Now, i think he would just walk on by if he sees me.

So here I am, single, alone in the room on this rainy day and writing the good old sad story.

You know sometimes I could be so silly until I stalk people in Facebook and look at those couple photos. Curse them lol.

Love can be many spendlour things, doesn't it? No one can deny the joy it brings. Dreams come true and those fairy tales. Love sometimes is like a drug that makes you blind but you will be very proud when the world is seeing how blind you are.

I wonder how they can attach so easily. Do they really care how fast they fall?

For me, it takes a lifetime for me to change my relationship status in Facebook. Perhaps, I’m that diva that irks every one. Or maybe I never bare my tits in Facebook, that’s why no one approaches me. Seriously, tits could boost popularity in Facebook with the number of likes. Hello world, this is my tits, please like.

Or maybe I don’t spam Facebook timeline enough so that’s why nobody takes notice of me. Really, I have friends who have 20 over postings per day. Maybe I should exceed them with 30 posts! Hello World look at me, attention whore is posting something in Facebook!

Talking about Facebook, there’s a rather cute and hot guy who records himself playing his lips (kissing gesture) and post it in the Facebook. It is very very disturbing!!

Put the sarcasm aside. After all those break ups and almost-got-it situation I’m very tired. Yes, i'm sadder but i'm wiser too after all these shortcomings.

Don’t you think that love is really a cycle. Fall in love -> Hook up -> Break up-> Move on -> fall in love again

Swear, I ain’t gonna fall into that sick cycle again. But alas, when love calls, I can’t refuse it. Maybe I should hold on tight this time around.

Illuminate Your Holiday with Fireflies and LEDs

It is very rare that i have spare time to travel. In fact, it has been 10 years i never go out from this country. During college days, i was too poor to do so and now, either my friends cannot make it or my job wouldn't allow me to do so.

That's PR line, don't you even think to have a long vacation.

Anyhow, i managed to take little time off and had a road trip. I love road trip coz i could drive freely in countryside without any traffic jam or sandwiched between concrete buildings. My sight is only a wide horizon as far as my eyes stretch. I'm glad that i could do road trip after so many years and this time is Kuala Selangor, about 80 km from Kuala Lumpur.

Unfortunately, my trip was delayed due to the road construction and we were stucked for half an hour. And the traffic caused so much delay until we missed the sunset at Bukit Malawati in Kuala Selangor. Locals claim that the peak of the hill is the best spot for sunset in entire Malaysia. The claim might be true coz the hill is overlooking the Strait of Malacca. Let the pictures below narrate my road trip.
Just love the blended orange and blue hues in the sky as the sun went down

The journey up to the hill was pretty spine-chilling coz it was dark and the road was steep. I was the lonely car along the small tiny road. But at last, salvation came when we saw the lighthouse and several cars at the carpark. The left over cannon during 18th century overlooking the blue tint mascara of Straits of Malacca and delta in distance
The ever devoted light house

Your best companions at the hill, Silverleaf Monkeys

So what is the best thing you can do when the night falls in Kuala Selangor? Of course, to see fireflies in thousands, literally. There are two places for you to choose to see the fireflies. One is Kampung Kuantan and the other is Kampung Bukit Belimbing.

I had tried Kampung Kuantan before and it was pretty pricey (RM 50 per boat for four pax. Since there were only two of us, it would be RM 25 per pax) compared to Bukit Belimbing which it's only RM 15 per person.Another reason why i didnt choose Kampung Kuantan this time is that the boat is wood-made ( i bet there is crocodile in the river) and the fireflies are lesser there.

The 3G coverage for Digi in Kuala Selangor is, like usual, none and sometimes i even lost the signal. Digi disconnect you everywhere you go. However, the direction boards are pretty useful and if you ever get lost, just ask the local.

After turning into smalller roads, you will enter a pitch of darkness and chilly silence as there is no single car leading to the park. Scary? Wait until you reach a road called Jalan Kubur (Cemetery Road). But that's the road which will lead you to Firefly Park Resort in Kampung Bukit Belimbing.

Fireflies in Kuala Selangor (picture by Art Chen,The Star)
The picture above looks like neon lights for Christmas tree right? No, the yellow glowing lights on the trees are real fireflies. Do believe in your eyes when thousands of fireflies illuminate the quiet dark Sungai Selangor. Though it is my second time but these glowing little bugs never fail to amuse me. But to pre-emp you, do get yourself mosquito repellant and set your mind that the river is safe from crocodiles.

We never had the famed seafood restaurants there as my little friend is allergic to seafood, so we opted for KFC instead. Strange right? Drove hundred miles just to have KFC. But to my surprise, Kuala Selangor is not that sleepy town anymore. They have hotels, commercial areas and even Tesco there.

Since our journey back to PJ would pass by Shah Alam somehow, so we stop by at i-City.i-City is a 72 acres ICT-based urban development beside the Federal Highway in Section 7, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Master planned by world-renowned and award-winning architect Jon A Jerde, i-City was designed as a fully integrated intelligent city, comprising corporate, leisure and residential components such as a 1.0 million sq. ft. regional shopping mall, office towers, Cybercentre office suites, hotels, apartments, data centres and innovation centre.

Okay, cut the crap. If you like LED lights, just go there. They have thousands or even millions LED light to light up the whole I-City.

                                                LED Sunflowers. Like Avatar right?

LED Pine Trees

I'm not sure i-City is the best place for photosensitive epilepsy because even normal person like me is blinded by the glaring colourful lights there
The trees are plastic and LEDs. I wonder how it looks like in day time

Even the birds are LED

Ferris wheel is in LED also but you can take a ride. Aside from the abundance of LED lights, i-City is an family entertainment spot also with theme park, rides and the newly water park. I didn't ride any because it was packed like mad

You know what is the best moment of this road trip? The best moment definitely gonna be the time I spent with the person next to me. Lol. If he is reading this, he would vomit blood out. Yew!! Nah, the best moment is the journey to the destination with the sunset in the horizon. The picture below sums it all. (BTW, not long after the picture was taken, the monkey mama and monkey baby fell on the road from the electric cable and it was hilarious. Thank god, no car at the time)

The Primadonna is available

Gonna be honest, I do loitering around in those gay mobile social network apps (Jack D, Grinder  and Boy Ahoy).

Yes, I do receive messages occasionally (I never show my tits there and my pictures barely hit 10 plus in Facebook but ain’t no why got people message me). So one generic question that they would ask me:  “do you have a boyfriend”

“God no” Le me

“You’re cute. Why single?” generic response from them.

Come to think of it, why I’m still single. To my surprise, I feel good about my singlehood right now.
It has been a year plus since my ex dumped me.  I fell for someone thereafter. It started well but he didn’t accept me in the end and now, he is literally out of my life. He doesn’t even wanna bother me.
Maybe I’m too preoccupied with my work so I don’t have the slightest tendency to muse about relationship right now. I even don’t have time for myself.

But to honest, if fate allows me to do so, I really don’t mind to have a partner. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not those shallow faggot who wants to be in a relationship for the sake of being relationship, you know what I mean. Really, there are people out there who just hook up with people who barely know coz they can’t stand to be single.

Anyway, I guess my preference has slightly changed ‘coz they are so many guys who are so my type in my friend circle but the cupid doesn’t hit me this time. Wonder why. Maybe my preference has been gradually becoming more demanding or should I say beauty comes from within?

Just wanna share with you, I always want an English educated background partner aka banana in Malaysia local colloquial term.  Really, I always have more topics to share with those bananas. I have dated two non-English educated before and it was a disaster. Definitely, it will be a bonus if the person has greater command of English than me. I speak no good English.

Smart guys with humility always turn me on. Maybe that’s why I fell head over heels for my previous crush. He is real smart and witty too. That’s why so hard for me to let go. Smartness and witness is one hella good combination to keep me entertained.

I know I do behave like a primadonna or diva per say, but one’s wealth is not my barometer to consider for a relationship. I know fags out there are judging the men like what car he’s driving or how much he earns, does he own a property but hey, for me, as long he has proper job and earn a descent earning to feed himself, I’ll be fine.

Physical wise, I like boyish manly but please don’t be fat and don’t be short coz I want my partner to grabs the items at the shelves that I cant reach. I know I’m short. I’m an Asian okay!

I guess I would be single for very long time. Come on, who wanna date a Primadonna girl like me? I’ma difficult person. I know I’ve a big ego but I don’t know why is such a big deal. I wanna be adored!\
